  • The Truth About Flaxseed Oil vs Fish Oil Revealed
  • Despite the fact that the flaxseed oil vs fish oil debate rages on in some quarters, there really is only one clear winner. Unless you are vegetarian, there is no benefit for you in taking flaxseed oils, and the only people interested in persuading you otherwise are the ones who sell it!

The most compelling reason that flaxseed oil is nowhere near as beneficial for you comes from scientific and undisputable facts.

Flaxseed contains a type of omega 3 called ALA. This, despite many people saying incorrectly otherwise, is NOT easily converted into the more useful fats called DHA and EPA. In fact, studies have shown that the best case scenario with a healthy young adult is a 7% conversion.

ALA will give you some benefits but only a fraction of those provided by fish oil rich in DHA omega 3 fats. The DHA fats are basically responsible for most of the health benefits, especially for your heart and brain.

They are the only ones found in abundance in your brain, helping to keep the tissues healthy and helping you to stay sharp and avoid depression, anxiety and more serious conditions like Alzheimer's too.

These DHA fats are also the only ones converted by the body into a powerful anti-inflammatory substance, the foundation of their power.

As you can see, there really is only one winner – high quality fish oil.

    The best fish oils

The best fish oils are those rich in DHA and very pure. They are actually hard to find as most supplements contain much more EPA as it is cheaper to concentrate and very little DHA.

Check out the website or label and you should get all the info you need, including the individual DHA/EPA levels. Look for at least 270mg of DHA in each 1000mg soft gel for the maximum benefits.

Molecular distillation is also important to remove the toxins like mercury and dioxins that the fish carry today. Again, many companies skip this step to increase profits, but this is dangerous as it leaves you exposed to the many toxins.

Again, the label or website should clearly state if this process has been done!

So there you have it, the outright winner of the flaxseed oil vs fish oil debate. If you want to stay healthy now and in the future too, using the best fish oils can really help you achieve it.

My family and I personally buy from a company in New Zealand which produces what I’ve found to be the purest and most effective fish oils available.

    To your good health,

    Rich Hawkins
