  • Fish Oil Dosage – How To Get The Correct Dose With The Most Effective Supplements
  •  supplementsGetting the right fish oil dosage is not solely dependent on the amount! The purity and quality must be taken into account as well or no matter what your fish oil dosage is, you will not get any significant benefits.

The normal dose for a healthy adult would be two 1000mg fish oil capsules a day. They should contain at least 1000mg of omega 3 oil of which at least 500mg should be in the form of DHA omega 3 fats (more on them later).

If you suffer from arthritis or other joint problems, you could happily double the dose of quality oils as there are no side effects. However, as the situation improves, you should lower the dose again.

As I said in the intro, if your oil is stale or rancid, it won't give you many benefits anyway. To help you get the best ones, look for fish oil supplements that have been molecularly distilled. This removes all the toxins to leave you with pure and concentrated oil.

If your fish oil dosage is pure, then you will be able to get the maximum benefits. Simply open up a capsule or soft gel and smell the contents – you should only get a faint ocean aroma from the best ones.

A strong fishy smell means poor quality stale oil that will offer very little, so beware! Look out also for unnecessary enteric coatings and flavouring as these are used to disguise stale oil.

The right oils and the correct fish oil dosage each day will give you the following benefits: a 40% reduction in the chances of a premature death from a heart attack, a stronger immune system, improved mental health with less chances of depression, help in prevention against many cancers including breast, colon and prostate and many more besides.

Earlier I also mentioned the DHA fats as these are critical in order for you to get the most benefits. These fats are responsible for the powerful anti-inflammatory qualities. As inflammation is behind most diseases, this is the most important attribute.

DHA is converted into an anti-inflammatory chemical by the body and is also the main fat in the brain. You will find many fish oil dosages containing more of the other main fat called EPA, but this is nowhere near as useful.

Look for a 2:1 ratio of DHA to EPA, and the label should clearly state the individual amounts.

The oil I personally use is extremely pure as it comes from one of the most pristine places on earth, New Zealand. It is actually a mix of hoki and tuna oil and is proven to have 250% more anti-inflammatory qualities than normal oil too.

So now you know the correct fish oil dosage and how to select the best ones, why not check out the pure DHA fish oil supplements I personally take and experience the maximum health benefits.

    To your good health,

    Rich Hawkins
